About this car
1965 Chevrolet Chevelle at Volo Auto Museum Sales in Volo Village Rd. Volo, IL, $87,998. Turquoise over Turquoise, 4 Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Teal '65 Chevelle two-door sedan in Volo studio shots: the paint is glossy and even, panels look straight, and the chrome bumpers and grille are bright.
- Body-colour steel wheels with redline tyres — the period look, all tidy in the wide shots.
- The teal vinyl bench-seat cabin is photographed in depth and looks fresh throughout — seats, door cards, carpets and headlining all clean; a white-knob 4-speed and under-dash gauges are fitted.
- The odometer reads 22,033 in the repeated gauge close-ups; much of the second half of the sample is the same instrument cluster photographed again and again.
- Engine bay is never photographed in the 16 viewed — the engine can't be judged at all.
- Underside and trunk are never photographed in the sample.
Money: at $87,998 you're paying for the paint and cabin, which photograph well — but with no bay, underside or trunk photo, price the unseen mechanicals as unknown until the seller shows them.
