About this car
1965 Pontiac GTO at GR Auto Gallery in Commerce Township, MI, $72,900. Burgundy over Black, 97,698 miles, 4-Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Burgundy '65 GTO hardtop at GR Auto Gallery Detroit: paint deep and glossy, chrome and stacked-headlight trim bright, redline tyres on Rally wheels — the exterior photographs at show standard.
- Black interior fills half the sample and looks freshly trimmed throughout — buckets, rear bench, door cards with GTO emblems, wood wheel and a Hurst-style shifter.
- The engine bay is never photographed in the 16 viewed — for a '65 GTO that means the 389 and its carburation (and the PHS story behind them) rest entirely on paperwork.
- One frame shows the car on a lift from behind, but it's a rear view, not an underside set — floors and frame can't be judged from it.
Money: at $72,900 the top side is fully documented and looks the part; the price still needs the two views this gallery skips — under the hood and under the car.
