About this car
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle at Volo Auto Museum Sales in Volo Village Rd. Volo, IL, $82,998. Black over Red, 4 Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Tuxedo black '66 Chevelle Malibu in Volo studio shots: the paint is deep and glossy, the body looks straight, and the chrome bumpers are bright.
- Five-spoke mags with redline radial tyres, tidy in the wide shots.
- The red bench-seat cabin looks fresh throughout — seats, door cards and carpets clean, a white-knob 4-speed on the tunnel; the dash odometer reads 73,567.
- One frame is a seller spec graphic claiming a 327/350hp and factory AA-code black paint — printed claims that the photos alone don't prove.
- Much of the sample's second half is the same radio and heater-control close-ups repeated.
- Engine bay, underside and trunk are never photographed in the 16 viewed.
Money: at $82,998 the car photographs as a handsome, honest Malibu — but the 327 spec lives only in the graphic, so see the bay before paying for it.
