About this car
1968 Chevrolet Chevelle at Volo Auto Museum Sales in Volo Village Rd. Volo, IL, $141,998. Blue over Black, 4L70E Overdrive Auto
What the photos show
- Deep navy paint is glossy and straight across the studio set, panels line up, and the chrome is bright.
- Five-spoke wheels with polished lips; a wheel close-up shows Wilwood calipers and drilled discs behind the front wheel.
- Interior is a full custom job, heavily photographed: black leather seats with blue stitching front and rear, custom console with an automatic shifter, modern wheel — all looks fresh and unmarked.
- The fender badge reads '350' — a badge only; the engine bay never appears in the 16 viewed, so the engine and its finish can't be judged from photos.
- Underside doesn't appear in the 16 viewed — can't judge the chassis or floors.
- One of the 16 frames is a dealer advert card, not a photo of the car.
Money: at $141,998 the paint and custom cabin photograph like a fresh build, but the engine bay and underside — half the value on a restomod — aren't in this sample; see both before paying it.
