About this car
1972 Chevrolet El Camino SS at Coyote Classics in St Greene, IA, $44,995. None over Black, 4-Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Blue paint with white hood stripes is glossy and even, panels straight, and the bed is painted body-colour and photographs clean and unmarked — this truck hasn't worked.
- Chrome bumpers are bright and it sits on chrome Cragar-style wheels with Cooper Cobra tyres.
- Black bench interior is clean and tidy, headliner taut, with a floor-shift automatic — the cabin matches the exterior standard.
- The underside gets a full lift set: black-painted floors look solid and dry, new-looking dual exhaust, clean axle and suspension — the best-documented underside in this batch.
- The seller photographs the car's aged, water-stained build sheet twice — paperwork is photographed, but read it in person rather than trusting the photos for the SS story.
- No engine-bay photo appears in the 16 viewed — odd gap given how thorough the rest of the set is; the engine room can't be judged from these.
Money: at $44,995 the body, bed and especially the underside photos back the ask — get one engine-bay set and read the build sheet in person before paying SS money.
