About this car
1988 Ford Mustang at Vanguard Motor Sales in Keel St. Plymouth, MI, $74,900. Red over None, 65,500 miles, 5 Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Red '88 Saleen Mustang hatchback, Vanguard turntable set: paint deep and glossy, Saleen body kit, stripes and mesh wheels all clean in repeated close-ups; 'Saleen Mustang' windshield banner and Racecraft suspension decals fitted.
- Engine bay is photographed once: stock-appearing 5.0 HO with a strut-tower brace in a body-colour bay that looks original and undisturbed rather than detailed-over.
- The interior is never photographed in the 16 viewed — the cabin is only glimpsed through the glass, so seat and trim condition can't be judged.
- No Saleen plaque, serial tag or paperwork is photographed in the sample, so the Saleen identity rests on documents the gallery doesn't show.
- Two of the 16 frames are Vanguard advert graphics, not the car; the underside is never photographed.
Money: at $74,900 a Saleen is worth its registry entry and plaque number — neither is photographed, so verify the car with Saleen before paying the premium over a clean 5.0 GT.
