About this car
1965 Chrysler 300 Convertible listed on eBay in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Listing shows 78,800 miles, Yellow exterior. Asking price $12,500 on eBay.
What the photos show
- The seller photographs the problems as carefully as the car — start with those: the black top is torn open at one rear corner, and the rear floor pan under the carpet is rusted through in a long patch with daylight-type holes.
- Underside: heavy surface rust covers the frame brackets and rails in the close-ups, and the trunk floor is rust-stained and flaking — a northern car that needs metal work, not just cosmetics.
- Body and paint: the pale yellow finish looks presentable and straight in the parking-lot shots, and the black vinyl seats and door cards photograph complete and serviceable.
- Documentation: the fender tag is photographed, so the factory spec can be decoded against the car.
- Engine bay: never photographed in the 16 viewed, so the engine's state can't be judged from this set.
Money: at $12,500 the top-line looks convertible-cheap, but the photographed floor and frame rust is real money — this prices as a restoration project, and the shell's true state sets the value.
