This car was born with the 273ci V8 and now features a rebuilt 360 Magnum from the early 90's. Exterior Deep Purple Metallic in two stage form adorns this car which in the right light, looks almost black! No Commando engine here, but we do have white Formula S stripes over the purple traversing over the center of the hood, roof and decklid. |

About this car
1965 Plymouth Barracuda listed on eBay in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Listing shows 58,400 miles, Automatic transmission, Deep Purple Metallic exterior. Asking price $28,900 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Dark purple '65 Barracuda with white stripes in a white studio; the wide shots look glossy and sharp, and the Formula S fender badge is photographed — but the badge alone doesn't prove the package, the VIN does.
- The seller's own second-half close-ups tell the paint story: a cracked, lifting paint edge along a window-channel seam, a visible scratch, and heavy swirling and spotting in the finish.
- Chrome bumpers and trim are bright in the wide shots, and the big rear glass looks clear.
- Interior is only glimpsed through the glass — seats and dash can't be judged properly from these photos.
- Engine bay is never photographed — whether the engine is the Formula S 273 or something else can't be judged at all.
- Underside is never photographed either; the final frames show the car up on ramps from behind, not underneath.
Money: at $28,900 the studio gloss flatters it — price off the seller's own flaw macros and demand bay, interior and VIN photos before treating it as a verified Formula S.
