About this car
1965 Ford Falcon listed on eBay in Walnut Grove, Missouri. Listing shows Manual transmission, White exterior. Asking price $5,500 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Body and paint: the pale grey looks presentable and straight in the yard shots, but there's a failed filler-and-paint patch at the base of one rear pillar, rust spots on the bumpers, and the headliner inside has been stitched back together — a car that's been kept going, not restored.
- Interior: the black vinyl benches look surprisingly clean and complete, with the original dash in place.
- Engine bay: the red straight-six sits complete in a dirty, surface-rusted bay; the trunk is full of parts and a spare gearbox housing, so establish what's included and what state the fitted drivetrain is in.
- Underside: never photographed — on a unibody Falcon the torque boxes and floors are the whole ballgame, and they can't be judged from this set.
Money: at $5,500 this is cheap entry into a '65 Falcon — priced right as a running project if the structure is sound, and the pillar filler patch says to bring a magnet and a torch.

Starting in 1955, Ford's top-of-the line models were in the new Fairlane series. For 1966, a total redesign was given to the Fairlane models. Even the Fairlane's new taillights reflected inspiration switching from round circles to soft cornered rectangles, again similar to the big Ford models.
