About this car
1969 Pontiac Grand Prix listed on eBay in West Babylon, New York. Listing shows 43,722 miles, Antique Gold exterior. Asking price $18,500 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Gold-green paint reads as aged and honest: gloss is uneven, the decklid and rear panels look flat and patinated, and the flanks carry the dulling of an old finish — survivor paint or an old repaint, either way not fresh.
- The brown vinyl top is the weak point in the final close-ups: dry, faded and lifting at the sail-panel seam by the rear window, with grubby seal edges — budget for a top, and check the roof skin under it for the rust vinyl hides.
- Gold interior glimpsed through the windows looks complete and decently kept, but no proper cabin photo appears in the 16 viewed, so wear can't be judged closely.
- Engine bay is original and dirty: the air cleaner carries a '428' decal and the bay shows surface rust on the booster and hardware — nobody has detailed it, which cuts both ways: honest, but everything will want recommissioning.
- Underside can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed.
Money: at $18,500 the value case is the 428 Grand Prix spec in an unmolested car — price it as a recommissioning project (vinyl top and roof check first), not as a polished classic, because the photos show patina, not shine.

Vehicle Original VIN : 2J37W92578483 INTRODUCTION: Only 865 actual miles! This unrestored survivor is in exceptional original condition. Extremely rare, it's one of just 232 four-speeds produced out of 210,050 Grand Prixs built in 1979! It had just one owner until 2022 and only two owners total. The original owner was a Pontiac collector who clearly knew how special this car was. It's exceptionally well documented, including the original factory window sticker still attached to the glass, two build sheets, original glovebox manuals, correspondence from the original owner and Pontiac, and more.
