1961 Mercury Comet

• Five of the 16 frames are other cars — a black '50 Mercury twice, a white '64 Comet twice and a blue Lincoln — so only the rusty wagon frames describe this car.
• Body and paint: there is effectively no paint left to judge — heavy surface rust covers the hood, roof, flanks and tailgate over the faded blue, the full patina look; whether it's solid patina or thin metal is an in-person question.
• Engine bay: a small-block Ford V8 swap with an aluminium radiator sits in a rusty, original bay — this wagon is a drivetrain project wearing its age, not a restored car.
• Interior: later grey bucket seats replace the original bench, the cabin floor is rusty around the pedals, and the original dash and wheel remain.
• Underside: two low frames show black-coated floors and rails that read intact at this distance.

Money: at $12,900 this is patina-and-swap money for a rare Comet wagon — it only makes sense if the shell is as solid as the underside shots suggest, because a full body restoration would cost multiples of the ask.
