1964 Ford Galaxie

• Gallery warning: five of the 19 frames are other cars (a '69 Galaxie convertible, a white late-model Shelby twice and a flamed '34 roadster twice) — the car's own coverage is the remaining frames.
• In its own shots the dark grey-green metallic paint is glossy and the big sedan looks straight, chrome bright; the black interior looks clean and original, and the odometer reads 74,502.
• The trouble is underneath: both underside close-ups show heavy, flaking scale rust on the frame rails — not light surface colour, but crusty corrosion that needs a proper probe before assuming the frame is sound.
• Engine bay matches that story: original and complete, but with heavy surface rust across the inner fenders and air-cleaner base — an unrestored bay on a car that has lived in a damp climate.
• The top side and the underside are telling two different stories here, and the underside is the one that costs money.

Money: at $16,900 the Galaxie looks like shiny value until the frame close-ups — get it on a lift and poke the rails before paying, because frame repair on a '64 Galaxie eats the bargain whole.
