About this car
1966 Chevrolet Corvette at GR Auto Gallery in Commerce Township, MI, $169,900. Nassau Blue over White, 655 miles, 4-Speed Manual
What the photos show
- Nassau-blue paint is glossy and even across the convertible's panels in the showroom set, photographed with the colour-matched hardtop fitted; chrome bumpers and trim are bright and the panel fit looks good.
- Knock-off-style wheels with goldline-style tyres keep the stock '66 presentation; the crossed-flag badges in close-up look fresh.
- White interior is the best-documented part of the car — seats, door cards, blue carpets and seatbelts all look clean and bright, with the glovebox and hardtop headliner also photographed and tidy.
- The soft top itself is never shown — the car wears its hardtop in every frame, so the folding top's existence and condition can't be judged from the photos.
- Engine bay doesn't appear in the 16 viewed — can't judge the motor or its presentation.
- Underside doesn't appear in the 16 viewed — can't judge the frame, the C2's key structural check.
Money: at $169,900 the paint and white cabin on show are showroom standard; the unseen engine, frame and soft top are exactly the items that separate a good C2 from a great one, so they need eyes on them before paying.
