About this car
1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III at GR Auto Gallery in Commerce Township, MI, $10,900. Brown over Tan, 62,151 miles, Automatic
What the photos show
- Body and paint: the brown metallic looks deep and straight at showroom distance, and the chrome is bright — but the seller's ruler close-ups tell the second half: paint is peeling in a long strip along one wheel-arch edge down to undercoat, with chips and crazed patches measured on several other panels.
- Interior: only the dash and front bench edge are photographed in the sample — the woodgrain dash presents complete, but the seats' condition can't be judged properly from this set.
- Presentation: the Mark III's spare-tyre hump and hidden headlamps are all photographed in place; one frame shows the car on a lift from behind without underside detail.
- Engine bay: not photographed in the 16 viewed, so the 460's state can't be judged from this set.
- Underside: not photographed in the 16 viewed either.
Money: at $10,900 the arch-edge paint failure is the visible bill — Mark IIIs are paint-and-chrome cars, so price the panel work the ruler shots document, not just the shine.
