About this car
1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI, $17,900. Dark Red over White, 41,589 miles, Automatic
What the photos show
- Red paint is glossy and even and the fibreglass looks straight; wire-spoke wheels are bright, and the T-tops are off in most shots so the panel fit reads well.
- White leather interior with red carpets is bright and complete, but the close-ups show honest wear: creasing and seam grime on the seat bases and a well-used door pull — presentable driver condition rather than restored.
- Rear storage area carpet looks clean and the door jambs and sill plates are tidy in the open-door shots.
- Engine bay can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed.
- Underside can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed; the C3 frame kick-ups and birdcage remain the inspection.
Money: at $17,900 the shiny red C3 with the white cabin photographs a touch above the usual '76 — the price holds if the frame is as clean as the paint, which is a lift question, not a photo one.
