About this car
1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition at GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI, $16,400. Frost Blue over Blue, 94,949 miles, Automatic
What the photos show
- From across the showroom the pale car looks tidy — then the seller's own ruler close-ups take over: most of the back half of the sampled set is macro shots of paint flaking and peeling off the fibreglass in patches on the fenders, doors, bumpers and around the lamps.
- Body and paint: plan on a full repaint — the flaking is documented on panel after panel, not in one isolated spot.
- Wheels: factory alloy-style wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tyres present fine in the wide shots.
- Interior: only glimpsed through the open T-top frame — blue cloth seats that look intact; there is no proper interior photo in the 16 viewed, so its condition can't be judged properly.
- Engine bay: not photographed in the 16 viewed, so the engine's condition can't be judged from this set.
- Underside: not photographed in the 16 viewed either, so the frame and birdcage stay unseen.
Money: at $16,400 the seller's own photos make the case for a repaint bill on top of the price — pay accordingly, as a mechanically-unproven C3 that needs paint, not as a presentable driver.
