About this car
1979 Lincoln Continental at Unique Classic Cars in Bassett Dr Mankato, MN, $21,900. BLUE over None, 59,722 miles, None
What the photos show
- Caution first: this Unique gallery is polluted — five of its 17 photos show other Lincolns (a white 1998-2002 Town Car twice, a 1946 Continental cabriolet twice and a 1936 Lincoln sedan); the rest are the listed dark blue '79 Continental.
- The listed car wears Collector's Series script and photographs handsomely: deep navy paint, gold pinstripes, turbine wheels and acres of bright chrome.
- Interior in its own frames: blue velour pillow seats and woodgrain in good order at this distance.
- Engine bay is photographed once — a big Ford V8 in honest, unrestored-looking order, dusty rather than detailed.
- One low frame glimpses a dark underside but it is no substitute for a lift look at a car this size.
Money: at $21,900 judge only the navy car's own frames; the Collector's Series premium rests on the trim tag, and the frame still needs a proper look.
