About this car
1979 Chevrolet Corvette at GR Auto Gallery in Commerce Township, MI, $19,900. Dark Blue Metallic over Beige, 74,328 miles, Automatic
What the photos show
- Dark navy metallic paint is deep and glossy, panels straight, and the car is shown with its T-tops off; alloy wheels and Hankook tyres look clean.
- One ruler close-up shows a patch of fine scratches in the paint — the only flaw the seller flags, and it's polish-size.
- Oyster leather interior is a strong point: seats show light creasing only, door cards and dash are clean, the rear cargo carpet and storage bins are tidy, and the dash shot shows a manual shifter in the console.
- The odometer photo reads 74,328 — whether that's the car's true total is a paperwork question, not a photo one.
- Engine bay can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed.
- Underside can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed, and on a C3 the frame kick-ups and birdcage are the rust money.
Money: at $19,900 the navy-over-oyster car with a manual box photographs a cut above most '79s — the price holds if the bay is as honest as the cabin and the frame checks out in person.
