About this car
1979 Chevrolet Corvette at GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI, $17,900. Black over Red, 51,018 miles, 3-Speed Automatic
What the photos show
- Black paint is deep and glossy and the car sits well on its alloy wheels; the Goodyear Eagle GT IIs are an old tyre design, so check the date codes before trusting them at speed.
- Detail close-ups show the small stuff: fine scratching and swirling in the fuel-cap emblem's chrome, water-spot marks measured on a panel, and light scuffs — polish-level items, all honestly photographed.
- Red door cards are bright and mostly clean, but the final frame shows the door pocket trim peeling away from the card at its edge — a small interior repair, disclosed by the seller's own hand in the shot.
- Seats are never shown in full in the 16 viewed, so their condition can't be judged beyond the tidy glimpses.
- Engine bay can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed.
- Underside can't be judged — it doesn't appear in the 16 viewed.
Money: at $17,900 this black-over-red '79 photographs as an honest driver — budget for tyres if the Eagles are old, and let the unseen bay and frame decide whether it's fully fair money.
