About this car
1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am at GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI, $32,900. Starlight Black over Black, 59,298 miles, Automatic
What the photos show
- Black paint is glossy with the full Special Edition presentation: gold hood bird, gold snowflake wheels, pinstripes and T-tops; the seller's ruler shot documents one cloudy, blistered patch in the paint.
- Black interior with the engine-turned dash looks tidy and original in style.
- Engine bay is never photographed — whether the car carries the Pontiac 400 or the Olds 403 can't be judged, and that is a real value split on a '79.
- Underside is never photographed, and the SE package itself is a PHS paperwork question the photos can't settle.
Money: at $32,900 the dress is right — PHS proof of a genuine SE, the engine identity and the floors decide whether the price is.
