Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 27th year in the classic and muscle car business. For as long as most people can remember the Chevrolet Corvette has been the standard bearer of American performance cars. What is often forgotten is the fact that only some serious scrambling by GM's engineering staff, and Zora Arkus-Duntov in particular, changed the Corvette from a stylish cruiser into a serious sports car that could challenge the world. About this car
1957 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible listed on eBay in Fredericksburg, Texas. Listing shows 926 miles, Manual transmission, Turquoise exterior. Asking price $129,950 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Turquoise paint is deep and glossy with ivory coves; chrome and the wide whitewalls are spotless — the body presents show-quality in every exterior view.
- Cream interior is just as fresh: seats, door cards and dash all look excellent, and the odometer reads 9,260 in the dash photo.
- Trunk is clean with a tidy ribbed mat; the beige top is only seen folded under the decklid, so its condition raised can't be judged.
- No engine-bay photo in the 16 viewed — on a fuel-injected '57 that bay carries much of the value — and no underside either.
Money: what's photographed fully supports the $129,950 ask, but the engine bay is the must-see at this money and it isn't in this sample.
