About this car
1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible listed on eBay in Carrollton, Texas. Listing shows 5,509 miles, Automatic transmission, Red exterior. Asking price $179,675 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Red paint is deep and glossy across every panel in the outdoor set, the coves and chrome side trim sit straight and the panel fit looks even all round.
- Chrome bumpers, grille and headlamp rings are bright and unpitted in the close-ups; the big polished multi-spoke wheels and low-profile tyres mark it out as a restomod rather than a stock C1.
- The tan soft top is photographed up in two frames and looks taut and clean; the cockpit under it is only glimpsed from behind, so top fit and the fabric underside can't be checked closely.
- Interior can't be judged properly — the sample is all exterior apart from the final frame, which shows one tan door card in fresh-looking condition; seats, dash and carpets never appear in the 16 viewed.
- Engine bay doesn't appear in the 16 viewed — can't judge the motor or its presentation.
- Underside doesn't appear in the 16 viewed either — can't judge the frame or floors.
Money: at $179,675 the body, paint and chrome on show are restomod-show standard, but the engine, cabin and underside are all unseen in this sample — those photos decide whether the ask holds.
