About this car
1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL at Unique Classic Cars in Bassett Dr Mankato, MN, $38,900. White over Interior Color Blue, 29,799 miles, C6 Automatic
What the photos show
- Cream-white paint is glossy and straight in the showroom set, chrome bumpers and side trim bright, panels even; aftermarket five-spoke wheels with Cooper tyres.
- Blue convertible top is photographed up and down: fabric looks taut and clean, and the rear window is clear, not yellowed or cloudy.
- Blue vinyl XL interior is the highlight — bucket seats, console automatic, door cards and dash pad all look excellent in close-up, with no splits or sagging visible; carpets clean.
- No engine-bay photo in the 16 viewed — can't judge the engine room at all, which matters on a Galaxie where the value swings with what's under the hood.
- No underside or trunk photo — frame, floors and the top well can't be judged from these photos.
- The speedometer strip is visible in dash shots but no odometer figure is legible — mileage can't be verified from the sample.
Money: at $38,900 the body, top and interior support the ask; the unseen engine bay and underside are the whole negotiation — get both photographed before paying XL convertible money.
