About this car
1963 Pontiac Bonneville listed on eBay in Los Angeles, California. Listing shows Automatic transmission, Midnight Blue exterior. Asking price $19,750 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Black paint has gloss in places but reads tired up close — swirls, scratches and small chips along the flanks, an older finish rather than a fresh one; panels look straight and the chrome still shines.
- White top is up in several shots and the fabric looks serviceable, but the rear plastic window is badly clouded and creased — budget for a window or a top.
- Black interior: the rear bench looks good, front cabin is only partly shown, carpet at the rear footwell is worn through in a patch; the odometer reads 02,536 on its five dials, which proves nothing either way.
- Trunk tells the truth: the mat is torn with rust staining at the edges, and with it lifted the trunk floor is heavily surface-rusted — check for thin metal before assuming it's cosmetic.
- Engine bay is grimy and original with surface rust on the booster and hardware — nobody has detailed this car for sale.
- Lift photos show the underside the same way: heavy surface rust across the axle, floors and exhaust, solid-looking in structure but crusty everywhere — a recommissioning budget, not a detail, is what this car needs.
Money: at $19,750 the rare Bonneville convertible shape carries the price, but the photos describe a tired, surface-rusty car — price in the top window, trunk floor repair and a full mechanical going-through before calling it fair.
